Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science

Mode: Full-time, 2 years.

Course fee: 5 000USD per annum [total course fee: 10 000USD].

Additional fees: registration (150USD), diploma fee, study materials (up to 250 p.a.), living expenses, visa (up to 250USD p.a.), etc.

Operator: Faculty of Computer Science.

Target audience: Holders of Computing and IT degrees (with a background in Mathematics and Computing) looking for in-depth knowledge about computer science and gain a post-graduate diploma.

End result: American "Master of Science in Computer Science" from DePaul University (Chicago, Illinios, USA).

Entry requirements: Necessary skills: computers, wordprocessors, spreadsheets. English skills: TOEFL paper-test score of 550; TOEFL computer-test score of 213; 6 on the IELTS scale; Cambridge FCE grade "A"; Cambridge CAE and CPE grade "C". WSB-NLU advises that candidates should undertake the English Competency test at their local British Council as the Test is a good measure of language competency, needed to determine eligibility for the programme.

Software Development Methods. Primary concentration, level 1: CSC 434 Object-Oriented Programming
CSC 440 Cryptology, CSC 444 Automata Theory and Formal Grammars, CSC 480 Foundations of Artificial Intelligence. Primary Concentration, level 2 [choose 2, 3 or 4 out of 4]: CSC 503 Parallel Algorithms, CSC 544 Theory of Computation, DS 591 Distributed Algorithms, CSC 599 Topics in Computer Science. Secondary comcentration, level 1: TDC 561 Network Programming, DS 513 Client/Server Technologies. Secondary concentration, level 2: TDC 563 Protocols and Techniques for Data Networks, TDC 568 Network Management.

These types of subjects are expected be have been COMPLETED prior to acceptance onto the DePaul MSc in Computer Science (as the prgramme is seen as a direct continuation of the BA in Computer Science, run ONLY in Polish).

c) A copy of the applicant's diploma from a programme at least equivalent to an American bachelor's degree.
d) Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended or an original index book (or officially authorized copy) that shows grades for all enrolled courses.
e) Documentation of satisfactory English language proficiency.
f) A letter of motivation, outlining the reasons for applying, academic achievements, professional aims/goals and what the candidate expects to achieve from the programme.
g) A resume (CV).
